THE AMAWATERWAYS CRUISE EXPERIENCE
AmaWaterways is an American based river cruise company specializing in river cruises in Europe, Africa, Egypt, Mekong, Columbia and most recently, the Amazon.
They have been in business since 2004 and founded by 3 industry leaders to make a better cruise line - Rudi Schreiner, Kristin Karst and Jimmy Murphy.
AmaWaterways is the only river cruise line to be a member of the international culinary society - La Chaine des Rotisseurs and the French Association, Tables et Augerges de France in recognizion of their cusine.
With these affiliations, you can be sure of dining well on an AmaWaterways Cruise. In additional to the main dining room, most of the ships have a "Chef's Table"featering a specially prepared set dinner. The main dining room features a varying menu each evening with multi choice dishes, including vegan/vegetarian, sugar free and gluten free - they even have great gluten free bread.

AmaWaterways is known for their Wine Themed Cruise. These cruises started a few years ago with a handfull of Americn Wineries showcasing their wine knowledge and their wines. Now there are over 80 wine cruises each year. We have hosted several Texas Wineries and their members really enjoy getting together to share their love of wine.
Each of our Celebration of Wine River Cruises is hosted by an enthusiastic wine professional who leads you through tastings and interactive discussions, accompanies you on select shore excursions to vineyards and cellars, and helps curate a special food and wine pairing dinner on board. Farm to Table dining - For years we have sourced all our fresh produce, herbs and freshwater fish from local farmers, many of whose families have been cultivating the soil along the banks of the Danube for generations. Our shared commitment to sustainability, family and personal connection makes us proud to support these farms – guaranteeing fresh and flavorful ingredients while reducing the distance each item travels to our ships.
Whether a special diet or allergies limits the ingredients in which you indulge, our attentive culinary team is ready and waiting to accommodate you. Enticing vegetarian and vegan dishes, gluten-free main courses and desserts, and even low-sodium and dairy-free meals are available. You will enjoy complimentary, unlimited wine, beer and soft drinks during lunch and dinner, as well as sparkling wine and fresh-squeezed juices during breakfast. Our reds and whites are of the highest quality and come from European wineries and vineyards. There is also a daily complimentary Sip & Sail cocktail hour featuring a drink of the day and a larger menu of cocktails, wine, beer and spirits, with a curated collection of mocktails also available on select ships.
• Multi Choice Excursions in each port - In order to accommodate each and every passenger’s pace, AmaWaterways offers a “Gentle Walkers” group, for those who’d like to explore at a more leisurely pace. Wherever possible, we also offer an “Active Walkers” group for those interested in covering more ground; and a “Late Starter” group for those who prefer to sleep in. AmaWaterways also offers multiple tours in each port for those that might have visited the area before at no additional charge.
AmaWaterways is the only river cruise line that carries more than two dozen bicycles and safety helmets, free for you to use throughout Europe.
• Staterooms - AmaWaterways staterooms begin on the lowewr deck with a cabin featuring a window. In Europe, the cabins are 160 sq. ft. Middle deck cabins , depending on the ship will feature French Balconies (sliding glass door) at 170 sq. ft, or a cabin with the French balcony and an actual walk out balcony at 210 sq. ft or 235 sq. ft. Upper deck cabins can feature French balconies, double balcony cabins and suites - ranging in size from 300 sq. ft. - 350 sq. ft. The AmaLyra, AmaDolce, AmaDante and AmaCello feature 2 single cabins with a French balcony. Connecting cabins, as well as triple and quad occuppancy cabins are available on the Ama Lucia, Ama Siena, AmaMora, AmaLea, AmaKristina, AmaViola, AmaStella and AmaMagna. The AmaBella and AmaVerde also feature triple or quad cabins.
